  • Who can pitch their ideas to DW?
    ANYONE. Literally anyone with access to our idea form, an email address, and an idea they desire to make into reality.
  • What can I pitch here?
    Glad you asked! We categorize pitches into six categories: PRODUCT: Sellable items that might be new or not widely available. These could be food, tangible items, or digital goods created with accessible tools and technologies. SERVICE: Skills, labor, or expertise you can offer to the market. This usually involves a detailed business model. Innovation here is highly specific due to fierce competition. INVENTION: Never-before-seen concepts or items created with unique methodologies and technologies. Think groundbreaking inventions like a bo staff that transforms into a stool or a perpetually charged mobile phone. Let's see you come up with something mind-boggling! ORIGINAL CREATIVE IDEA: Concepts for movies, shows, podcasts, fine art, digital art, books, music, stage play, or games. It could be silly, beautiful, tragic, or all of these things. The most important part is that it’s original and true to you. We're sick of sequels and rehashes—let’s give the world something new! SOCIAL MOVEMENT: Causes aimed at making life fairer and less of a struggle for communities. If you have a cause near and dear to your heart, please let us help you get started. The world needs more hearts like yours, and hands and feet to actualize your vision. FREEFORM: If your idea doesn't fit into any of the other categories, consider our interest piqued. This is where free-thinking goes Wild West. Give us your best shot!
  • When can I submit my idea and how long will it take before we begin working on it?
    Anytime! We'll confirm receipt within 2 weeks so you won't have to guess if we actually read it or not. Please allow us additional 2 to 4 weeks to study it and ensure we're the right people to help you. We’ll contact you through the email you will provide in the idea form.
  • Can I trust you to not steal my concepts? What will happen to my original ideas once I submit them to you?
    We’re here to empower free-thinkers like you. Transparency, trust, and dedication is taken seriously in DW. It is our aspiration to keep fostering new ideas for decades to come. Once we receive your idea, we'll thoroughly evaluate it, do our research, and check with our tools and experts to be 100% certain we're the right people to help you. Here's what might happen: If we can’t help, we will not take or use your idea. We’ll provide recommendations and information from our study with the hope of pointing you to the right direction. It is our desire for you to pursue your idea within or without DW. If we can help, we'll partner with you to actualize your idea, offering expertise, skills training, and financial planning. You won't pay us until your idea earns and sustains itself. We believe your vision and passion should be the largest drivers of your success—not your schooling, credentials, or money.
  • How can I say that my idea is ready to be pitched?
    You can never be 100% sure if it's ready until you get started. We know many innovators and businesspeople who sit on ideas for YEARS, only to have those ideas forgotten or abandoned. We don't know how many of those ideas could've been game-changers, so we encourage you to grab onto yours, assess it, and if you believe in it, run with it! Here are some things to consider: Who is this idea for? You need to know your audience to tailor your idea to their needs. This also helps confirm if your idea is not just a personal home project that's slowly blowing out of proportion. - If it's a product, who will buy it? - If it's a service, who will avail of it? - If it's an invention, who will use it? - For a creative project, who will view or listen to it? What statement are you trying to make with this? - For a social movement, who are you trying to help or what change are you hoping to achieve? What do you need to get started? Do you need raw materials, basic skills, expertise, extra hands? Identify what’s necessary. Does this idea address an existing problem or fill a gap? Are there other people offering anything remotely similar to your idea? Is it sustainable for you as the creator of it? Is it sustainable for the environment, the community, and the people who will potentially work on it alongside you? Are you willing to learn and adapt to make it work? Are your willing to save up or invest for this idea? Why are you pursuing the idea? Is it for monetary gain, passion, to make a difference, personal fulfillment?
